Local Amateur Radio Club Receives Special Service Club Designation Renewal

    Bradford, PA¾ The McKean County Amateur Radio Club, an affiliated club with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), has received a renewal of the ARRL Special Service Club designation for another two year period.

   The ARRL Special Service Clubs have gone through a process above and beyond the requirements for other affiliated clubs. These clubs have demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

bullet Training and supporting local Amateur Radio efforts in licensing, upgrading and continuing education or elmering (mentoring others).
bullet Public Relations and improving the visibility of Amateur Radio, promoting it as a positive force within the community.
bullet A willingness to become involved in any local emergency or drill.
bullet Technical Advancement and encouraging members to become more familiar and knowledgeable in technical Amateur Radio aspects in the community.
bullet Operating Activities in which a substantial program is conducted in an area of particular interest of the club; and,
bullet Miscellaneous Activities in which ongoing programs or activities are in additional established areas.
