On February 8, 2005, The McKean County Amateur Radio Club was informed that our ARRL Special Service Club designation was renewed for another two year period.

The ARRL Special Service Club is an designation that clubs that perform a number of events and tasks are able to apply for the designation.  Under ten percent of ARRL affiliated amateur radio clubs qualify for the Special Service Club designation.

These activities include conducting amateur radio licensing courses, VE exams, participating in Field Day events, participating in emergency communications, emergency communications training, are among the requirements.
