Amateur Radio Expo Announced for McKean County and Surrounding Counties

McKean County Amateur Radio Club announces an Amateur Radio Expo to be held on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Bradford Area Public Library from 10:00am through 4:00pm.  This event will give the attendees an idea of the different facets of the amateur radio hobby and also some potential careers paths that a young person with an amateur radio license might be interested in pursuing.

The Expo will have different tables or stations showing something different about the hobby or what we provide service to.  Planned stations are: Emergency Communications, Severe Weather Spotting, PSK-31, VHF-UHF radio operation, HF radio operation, Red Cross Disaster operations, Contesting, Morse Code operation, radio controlled models along with some other topics still being planned.  Attendees will be able to participate in operating some of  the equipment or to watch the demonstrations.

In addition, there will be several displays of career paths that young hams may take advantage of for careers after they are done with school.
